This season we welcome a new member of the Saginaw
Valley League. Mount Pleasant, after two years of
independent status will return to a conference.
Over the years Mt. Pleasant has been a solid program,
playing one of the toughest schedules around and
occasionally scheduling new fellow conference member
Arthur Hill. This year brings more than a
conference change to the Oilers. They will begin
the season with losses from key positions across the
board. Gone are QB Mike LaFleur, RB and current
Grand Valley Laker Mike Wiltse and RB Brandon Coons just
to name a few on offense. The Oilers success will
be dependent on how well the big Junior class from last
year steps up into their accelerated roles.
The road through the Valley is mixed for the Oilers as
they play Midland High and Heritage on the road but will
host conference foes Bay City Western and Midland Dow.
With only four homes games, it will make it an ever
tougher first season for Mt. Pleasant. |
